I-69 Ohio River Crossing Project
Informative presentation by the Indiana Department of Transportation I-69 Ohio River Crossing (ORX) project team at tonight's United Neighborhoods of Evansville general membership meeting.
The ORX plan calls for extensive use of roundabouts (traffic circles) on the bridge approaches. Because the only movement allowed upon entry or exit from a roundabout is a right turn, the occurrence of crashes that result in injury is substantially reduced.
Vanderburgh County uses roundabouts on North Oak Hill Road. Crashes have been reduced dramatically and injuries all but eliminated.
